Gail Reiner is a doctorally-prepared (University of San Diego) nurse practitioner and researcher at UCSD and Rady Children’s hospital (paediatric neurology). She has a consultative clinic for Smith-Magenis syndrome patients which meets 4 times/year and otherwise specializes in Tourette’s syndrome, autism, and mitochondrial disease. She has a 41 year old daughter, Sonja, with Smith-Magenis syndrome who was diagnosed at age 32. She has talked at the Prisms meeting 3 times with Ann Smith on health promotion across the lifespan and done sidewalk consultations at the prisms meetings. Gail and Dave have also participated in the scientific meetings for SMS and are currently working on two SMS case reports for scientific publication.
