Director of Employment. ENABLE Scotland
Jamie joined ENABLE Scotland in 2009, holding several leadership roles in the organisation, and was the driving force in establishing ENABLE Works as one of Scotland’s largest and most diverse specialist employment support organisations.
As a member of the Executive Team, Jamie has directorate responsibility for ENABLE Works – ENABLE Scotland’s employment and skills services, supporting thousands of disabled people all across Scotland to make a successful transition from education, gain new skills and find a job each year.
Through Jamie’s leadership, ENABLE Works became the first organisation in Scotland to offer employment support through personalised budgets; established industry recognised support models for transitions from education into work and developed a ground-breaking partnership model for the successful delivery of supported employment services.
As well as his role at ENABLE Scotland, Jamie also champions inclusion in public policy as Chair of the Scottish Union of Supported Employment and as a committee member of the European Union of Supported Employment and Scotland’s Third Sector Employability Forum.
Planning for transitions can be difficult and involve a lot of different stakeholders, from education to the third sector. This session is focussed on being prepared and knowing what to expect from stakeholders.
ENABLE Works are one of the largest organisations supporting people with a learning disability into work in the UK. This session is an overview of their work.
